Welcome to Basecamp Bozeman! 


This charming apartment is for our longer-term guests (28 nights or more!). Located only 3 blocks from the Montana State University campus in a quiet, residential part of Bozeman. Within easy walking distance of the Food Coop, campus, and downtown. This is an ideal location for someone looking to do temporary work in the area or looking for a longer-term getaway. Whatever the reason,  relax and enjoy the best of Bozeman or use this as your basecamp for exploration to Yellowstone Park, Big Sky, and Bridger Ski resorts, or the many trails and rivers in the surrounding National Forest.


The apartment consists of the entire upstairs of the house, comprising 2 bedrooms (1 queen bed, 1 full-size bed with an additional twin trundle bed), a full bathroom (large tub), a living room (with sofa bed couch), and a fully stocked kitchen. The backyard is fenced with a patio and barbeque.


Appliances include Smart TV with Spectrum cable and Apple TV, high-speed internet (400 MBps), DVD, dishwasher, washer, and dryer.


Two bicycles are available for use. 


Parking is for one vehicle in the driveway and avaialble on street parking is plentiful.

This space is quiet and ideal for anyone in a remote work situation, affiliated with the University, getting oriented to Bozeman, or for a prolonged Montana vacation.

17750 Roaring Creek Road, Leavenworth WA works in Google Maps to navigate you there. 

From HWY 2, turn right onto Coulter Creek road, immediately cross the train tracks and take the left onto the dirt road. This road bends to the right, proceeds uphill for approximately .3 miles, then take a right onto Roaring Creek Road. My place is the first driveway on the left, approximately 3/4 of a mile from the turnoff onto Roaring Creek Road. 

The door code is currently 1640. This is for the keypad located on the basement door under the deck. This is the main access door, please be sure to always close this door firmly so the knob latches (strong winds can blow the door open if it is unlocked and not fully closed). On your way out, press the "Schlage" button on the keypad to lock the door from the outside.

Please be careful opening the hot tub as the bar that supports the hot tub cover is broken. You may need two people to open the hot tub cover.

Winter access:

If it is winter, you MUST bring traction tires, chains, and/or all-wheel drive (with good tires).  The road to the cabin is compact snow and ice for 1.3 miles. 

Often the highway to Leavenworth also requires traction tires, check the conditions on the mountain passes at the following link:

Please also bring boots and waterproof pants in case you need to walk the last 200 feet from your car to the cabin door due to traction difficulties. It is a good idea to bring snowshoes or boots with traction on them as well. We plow the road every day but it can take time so be prepared to be flexible if you see snow in the forecast! 

Check Out Instructions

Please strip the linens off the beds that you used and leave them in front of the laundry machine downstairs. 

Please start a load of linens/towels. 

Please put all trash and recycling in the cans under the sink. Extra bags are available under the sink. 

Please wash all the dishes and leave them to dry on the rack. 

Lock the doors and close the windows on the top two floors, leave through the basement, and press the "Schalge" button to lock the door on your way out.

Pets

We welcome your dogs! We do ask for a $15 per pet per night fee (max we charge $150) to help us keep up with the cleaning. Please let us know if you plan on bringing a pet and we will be in touch after the booking is completed to collect the pet fee. More details on pets can be found in the guidebook we will send to you after booking. If you want to bring a pet that is not a dog, please request permission before finalizing the booking. Thanks!

Finally, you may encounter the resident woodland husky pup Pondo (short for Ponderosa Pine) around the grounds--he is super friendly but let us know if that presents a problem for you or your other pets and we will keep him from bothering you. Feel free to play with him and pet him but please don't feed him anything.

I am a simple man from the Pacific Northwest, interested in facilitating experiences, innocuous rule-breaking, and wilderness adventure. Often I enjoy losing altitude on or in some form of water.

I work on a computer for my day job. I am a consultant in the renewable energy industry, working with electric utilities around the world helping them to plan investments in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and grid modernization. I am motivated by my love of the environment--recognizing that the energy industry is one of the most significant environmental influence levers we humans have. I adore the Pacific Northwest and particularly WA state. I split time between Bellingham, Leavenworth, and work travel. Since I have a computer anywhere I have that flexibility which I am very grateful for.
