The cabin is on 20 acres of private woodland meadows and forest with a network of trails adjacent to 500 acres of protected public Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land. Pet friendly!

A Dog- and Family-Friendly Getaway! With a Hot Tub!

Sometimes you just need to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy some splendid natural beauty. The Roaring Creek Cabin offers an incredible North Central Cascades getaway perfect for groups and families (with dogs), in need of some rest and relaxation. Surrounded by woodlands, it's just a quick drive to pristine slopes in the winter, and with perks like your very own private hot tub, this is one vacation rental you won't want to miss.

Uniquely Situated in the Woods. A Private Setting!

Nestled deep in the woods, you'll love driving to and from your new home-away-from-home (it's a scenic two-hour drive from Seattle). The quaint Bavarian town of Leavenworth is just 19 miles south for all your dining needs, with skiing a quick 18-mile drive westward at beautiful Stevens Pass. More attractions await at Lake Wenatchee State Park eight miles to the north, but if you're just looking for a nature hike, all you need to do is step out of your door! This setting is wonderfully seasonal--with 6+ feet of snow in the winter and 90 degree temps in the summer, and almost daily rainbows in the spring and fall.

A Fully-Equipped Kitchen - Just Like Home

The Roaring Creek Cabin is a spacious, homey getaway with an incredible selection of comforts. This multi-level home's large rooms and vaulted ceilings give groups of up to eight enough space to relax after a long day of exploring the great outdoors. The rustic atmosphere is accentuated by lots of natural light and amazing views via the wide windows, the home's incredible wood and stonework, as well as a large variety of charming objects decorating the walls.

Cool Views: Inside and Out

Take in the stunning view and some bracing mountain air on your very own private deck, then step back inside to the cozy living room. The large, plush sectional sofa is perfect for getting family and friends together for some relaxation, made even better by the stone-facade wood stove that keeps everyone nice and toasty in the cold winter months. This cabin offers a great opportunity to unplug; put those stressful work emails aside (although wifi is available), put some music on the speakers, and just sit back and take in the view of the woods and mountains from the many windows.

Eat and Relax: It's Vacation!

The dining area is near the living room, with a charming table for four and seats for four more at the breakfast bar nearby. For those hoping to take in amazing mountainside views with their meal, good news! The deck offers another table for four and an incredible view to accompany your meal.

We Love the PNW

The main attraction of this home is all around you: the gorgeous nature of the Pacific Northwest! Visitors in the spring, summer, and fall can simply step out of the door and enjoy a walk through the surrounding woodlands, or head to nearby Lake Wenatchee State Park for hiking, fishing, swimming, golfing, and more. Wintertime visitors, meanwhile, can take a quick drive to Stevens Pass, and tear up the slopes with skis and snowboards. After excursions, you can come back home and take a nice, long soak in your private hot tub, complete with an incredible view on the deck.

Leavenworth has Something for Everyone!

If you ever need a break from exploring the great outdoors, the low-key, quaint town of Leavenworth is just 19 miles south. Styled like a Bavarian village, Leavenworth boasts charming architecture, several restaurants and shops, and gorgeous views of the mountains. You can explore the town's shops and cafes at any time of the year - as well as visit nearby attractions like the Upper Valley Museum and Icicle Junction mini-golf and arcade just a mile from town. October visitors can take in the excitement and energy of a traditional Oktoberfest festival, complete with all the brews and brats you could ever want.

Feel free to browse the Roaring Creek Cabin Welcome Book for more details on the location and recommended activities.

Guest Access

Please note that during the winter you will need chains or all-wheel-drive to access the cabin. The road is regularly plowed, but traction is required. Guests can access the entire house except for the pantry (off the hallway) and a small portion of the basement with a locked lattice door.

The Neighborhood

There are other full-time residents on this road. Please respect their privacy and peace and quiet.

Getting Around

There are no taxis or public transit out near the cabin, so you will need to have your own vehicle. Please carpool because parking in the driveway is limited.

Other Notes

This is a highly seasonal location. There is ~6 feet of snow in the winter. The spring and fall are absolutely stunning. Summer can be as hot as 95 degrees, but usually there is a nice breeze up in the mountains. I won't see you while you are there, but give me a call or email if you need activity suggestions!

Check in Instructions

17750 Roaring Creek Road, Leavenworth WA works in Google Maps to navigate you there.

From HWY 2, turn right onto Coulter Creek road, immediately cross the train tracks and take the left onto the dirt road. This road bends to the right, proceeds uphill for approximately .3 miles, then take a right onto Roaring Creek Road. My place is the first driveway on the left, approximately 3/4 of a mile from the turnoff onto Roaring Creek Road.

The door code is currently 1981. This is for the keypad located on the basement door under the deck. This is the main access door, please be sure to always close this door firmly so the knob latches (strong winds can blow the door open if it is unlocked and not fully closed). On your way out, press the "Schlage" button on the keypad to lock the door from the outside.

Please be careful opening the hot tub as the bar that supports the hot tub cover is broken. You may need two people to open the hot tub cover.

Check Out Instructions

  • Please strip the linens off the beds that you used and leave them in front of the laundry machine downstairs.

  • Please put all trash and recycling in the cans under the sink. Extra bags are available under the sink.
  • Please wash all the dishes and leave them to dry on the rack.

Cabin Getaway

This cabin is beautifully secluded, overlooking a canopy of trees and mountain tops in a mostly sun-lit valley. We were three couples and had plenty of common and private space throughout the property at any given time. On multiple occasions we enjoyed the hot tub and the star filled sky at night. The kitchen and other utilities are all very modern and functional. The sound system also stood out among other locations and we enjoyed evenings of relaxing after hiking. Communication with the host was appropriate and we look forward to returning to this unforgettable experience. Two thumbs up!

Amazingly restful getaway!

We had an amazing time at Jon's house. It was spotless clean, spacious and very comfortable for 3 couples. We had a great time enjoying the terrace, the fire pit and the area in general. Also all of us discussed over breakfast that we all slept like babies in Jon's house. So thank you Jon for sharing your beautiful place with us and for allowing us to enjoy good long deep sleep. We feel rested!

Incredible views

The view from the tub can't be beat. The opportunities to explore the surrounding mountains are endless. Jon clearly loves the area, and his awesome recommendations guide and helpful answers to a few of our questions helped us fall in love with it over an all-too-short weekend, too. A pretty cabin with a perfect porch in a beautiful place.

Prefect location

Jon’s place is perfect for that quiet secluded weekend getaway, which is exactly what we were trying to accomplish! It’s very private and scenic, yet is only about 25 minutes from downtown Leavenworth. There is much exploring to be done in this neck of the woods!

Amazing host!

Jon is such an amazing host! We were in communication prior to me officially booking his listing, and I had so many personal requests for the weekend. I was pretty much hopeless that any host would accommodate them, but Jon replied quickly to me and was not only willing to let my group and I stay at his place, but he was SO supportive of us! Thank you Jon- we really appreciated that. The cabin was much bigger than I was suspecting. Out group LOVED that after a full day's climb, we were able to relax in the hot tub. The beds were also very comfortable. The cabin itself was tucked away a mile off of the highway so there is a lot of privacy. It's a super clean and spacious listing. Thank you Jon for everything!!

Greetings! I am a man from the PNW interested in innocuous trespassing and wilderness adventure. Often I enjoy losing altitude on or in some form of water. I founded Stay Cascadia because hosting is energizing for me. Facilitating a positive experience and sharing the natural wonder of this region is one of my passions. Please contact me you have any questions or concerns about your stay or want some recommendations! I work on a computer for my day job. I am a consultant in the renewable energy industry, working with electric utilities around the world helping them to plan investments in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and grid modernization. I am motivated by my love of the environment--recognizing that the energy industry is one of the most significant environmental influence levers we humans have. Originally from Oregon, I adore the PNW and particularly WA state. I split time between Bellingham, Leavenworth, SE Alaska, and work travel. Since I have a computer anywhere I have that flexibility which I am very grateful for.
